kind words

Emilee has transformed my life. I was struggling with low energy, poor sleep, and limited concentration. I wasn't feeling like "myself" and had gotten myself stuck in a rut in my life and I needed help. Emilee is incredibly kind and honest. She evaluated my diet and my lifestyle and came up with a plan to get me back on track. She meets with me weekly to do pilates, always knowing what I am physically capable of and how to motivate me to do more. I'm so excited by how much flexibility and strength I've gained.  I'm feeling much more healthy, I've lost weight, and I'm feeling empowered to continue improving. I would strongly recommend her to everyone!

I thankfully met Emilee on a 5 day bike ride along the Coast of California. Never would I have imagined that our meeting would change my life so positively.  When I reached out to her for help with hair breakage and energy concerns (as a mid-40 endurance athlete), she begun to peel back the layers thoroughly delving into contributing factors as root causes of much more. Emilee has helped me understand the holistic meaning of nourishment for both the body and soul. She has encouraged me to exhale and look inside such that vitality can be expressed on the outside. As an endurance athlete seeking longevity and strength, Emilee’s program, services, compassion, and empathy as a care giver has opened my eyes to what it really means to be a healthy & active woman. While I have worked with other nutritionists over the years, Emilee rises to the top in terms of presentation, sharing knowledge, guidance and authenticity to her craft. Our journey is ongoing as yours will be too.

I really loved taking the nutrition class, but the one-on-one guidance I received from Emilee was even more helpful! She helped me analyze how my nutrition was affecting my health, and come up with totally do-able improvements. Thanks to her I finally went gluten-free after putting it off for a long time; it has made a tremendous difference for me! I've lost weight, my restless leg syndrome (which was awful before) is all but gone, and my running performance has improved significantly. Emilee is not only very patient and professional but she really listens, and works with you to help you make realistic lifestyle changes. If you're hesitating as to whether or not you really need the help - trust me, we all do! You'll be happy you went with Emilee!

“I wanted to let you know that my whole 30 stint went amazingly. I was shocked at how much my energy levels, mood, skin, and sleep improved. I also lost quite a bit of weight, though I followed their advice and didn't step on the scale the entire time (and haven't since). I ended up continuing the program for about another month, and I'm now doing a mini reset before the holidays.

I want to thank you for really changing the way I view food. I used to be fairly dismissive about food, and I thought I knew what I was putting in my body. I did not. I was especially unaware of how much sugar was affecting my cravings and energy. I thought being an adult was just being tired all the time.  I'm absolutely amazed at how well whole 30 worked for me, and I probably would have never tried it were it not for your class. So thank you!!”

“After being diagnosed with hypermobility in my hips, I was struggling to find the stability I needed to get back to a more intense exercise regimen. While yoga and pilates instructors always mention the pelvic floor, it was the intense focus and practice through Emilee's class that helped me to find and engage the muscles that were not working hard enough to support my movement.  A month or so into my first class with her, I was back to running and I am still making progress. I'm so grateful!”

“I’ve been working with Emilee for the last 6 months and have learned to put my health first and then let everything else come together.  For an endurance athlete balancing nutrition for easy and hard training days is critical to the success of my lifetime goals. She has taught me the importance of putting the right combination of foods together for sustainable energy.  Emilee has made the learning process easy. She is very patient and encouraging in this journey. She has introduced me to new whole foods I might never have tried. Her recipes are endless. Thank you Emilee!”

“I was introduced to Emilee by my triathlon coach as I was interested in some nutritional coaching for a race I was preparing for. My expectation was some food/menu advice and race day nutrition. What I actually got was so much more.

Emilee is wonderfully knowledgeable and takes an individual in the person as a whole. We started out with some general blood work, and food and exercise diary, which revealed a few interesting things I was unaware of. Her advice is clear, and takes into account lifestyle and commitments in order to make it work with day to day living.

Over the last 2 years, I have embarked on a New Years detox ( which I never normally would have signed up for ) which again taught me more about my body and the way in which certain foods affect me. More recently, Emilee has helped me with difficult menopausal symptoms, which allowed me to avoid Hormone Replacement Therapy- a road I was not keen on visiting.

The most wonderful thing about working with Emilee, is the feeling she exudes which is that she really cares. My triumphs and well being, is her triumph too. This makes it such a wonderful partnership. I have learnt so much about myself through working with her, and I am grateful for that moment when I was introduced to her.

I myself have introduced her to friends and family who have struggled in one way or another, because I am so confident that she can help.

Thank you Emilee!!!”

“I was introduced to Emilee through a contact at Pilates ProWorks. I had recently undergone a traumatic birth and was just coming out of a long, hard postpartum recovery period. Physically, I felt depleted and frail, and mentally I felt like a shadow of myself. Emilee entered my life and lovingly helped guide me through this time. She's innately nurturing, and she knew exactly when to push me physically and when a few encouraging words of advice were needed over anything else. I truly enjoyed each and every one of our one-on-one pilates sessions and would look forward to them as a little sanctuary space in which I could begin to heal both physically and mentally. Emilee takes a holistic approach to postpartum strength building, which I have come to learn is the most effective way to aid recovery. I cannot recommend her classes highly enough for new moms.”

After my second baby turned 5 months old, I realized that I was seriously depleted physically and mentally. I had birth complications and was basically sent on my way by the hospital to self-heal with very little guidance for how to do that. My husband had heard about Emilee and urged me to speak with her, but I didn't believe that changing my nutrition was going to help me with the exhaustion and feelings of inadequacy that comes with having two very young children. I've spent my whole life as an actress minding what I ate. Getting more nutrition advice felt like it would just be a lot more work for me during an already challenging time of my life.

Well, I was very wrong! Emilee gave me small, manageable changes and advice on supplements to get me well again.  It did not feel overwhelming and eventually I felt my energy returning and my body being restored to health.  Emilee is very encouraging and wanted me to succeed--there was no shaming my setbacks.  We just kept moving forward and modifying my diet as needed.  Working with Emilee has been an enormous gift to myself and my family.  I am happy to report that I feel terrific and great in my body again!”

I’ve been seeing Emilee on and off now for over 3 years and each time I learn more. Emilee has helped so much, both during my pregnancy and post-partum. During pregnancy, I was able to keep strong in the run up to birth while maintaining proper posture for a growing baby and shifting body weight.

Since my third child, she has helped me get stronger with my Pelvic Floor and Abs. I had Diastasis Recti and she has helped zip me my torn muscles back together again along my core. I enjoy Pilates and love the subtlety of it all, looks like you’re not doing anything but your muscles are doing a serious work out!

Emilee is so supportive and understanding, approachable and gentle, yet pushes us to do more in each class and knows just the right amount of exertion we need to progress. I love working with Emilee, she’s inspiring and sets you on the right path!”

— Helen

Emilee, I just wanted to thank you again for jumpstarting my health program. I was definitely in a weird funk and your program really got me thinking and making some amazing changes! Thank YOU! I have lost 7 pounds, feel great, running faster and finally prioritizing my health.”

— Stacy, a participant in the women's program

“Prior to participating in a nutrition program with Emilee, I was eating only about half of the calories that I needed with the amount of exercise I was doing daily. On days that I did not exercise, I was scared to eat more than I burned for fear of gaining weight. Emilee's program helped me change my eating habits so that I can be the most successful athlete possible. Not only am I more energetic throughout the day, I feel stronger and have more self-confidence in my body! I do not feel the need to limit what I am eating, and have overcome the fear of eating more calories than I burn! Her recipes are also so tasty, and very healthy!”

— Alana, HS Student

“My wife worked with Emilee for help after the birth of our second child. As my wife made changes I easily enjoyed some of the benefits of the new nutrition plan. A few years later I suffered a back injury and my ultra endurance racing came to a screeching halt. I was crushed. I spent over a year in an endless loop with doctors and physical therapists. I finally turned to Emilee to see if she could get me out of my rut. It was at that time that the pandemic reached the USA and our nation went on lockdown. I am a physician and was very anxious about being exposed to COVID. On top of that I was unable to decompress as exercise has always been my major stress relief. I felt like things were spinning out of control.

Emilee was amazing. We first started with a check in on the phone. She gave me a few things to immediately fix with my diet. It was overwhelming at first but I very quickly became excited about everything I was learning about my needs and foods that served me well. I enjoyed identifying the things that were hurting me. Gluten for example has always been a huge part of my diet and it was fascinating to see how well I responded to eliminating it. I was skeptical and after a month of being gluten free I tested it by chowing down again on pasta and bread and immediately felt the runny nose and acid reflux return. What a gift it is to learn what your body thrives on. I loved Emilee’s approach. She is a true advocate for me and demonstrated compassion for my frustrations and an understanding for how hard it is to make changes.

I began to see benefits immediately. Once I was eating well with foods that nourished me rather than broke me down, we really dove into my back injury. She intuitively knew there was an issue with my core and how I moved. Without ever seeing me in person she was able to extrapolate on her experience that this could be solved by addressing a total body movement analysis. I really felt some relief when she said “let’s find you someone to lay eyes on you. Sometimes it isn’t enough to have a doctor or physical therapist analyze your main problem area; you need someone who can evaluate how you move as a whole unit.” After a year of physical therapy I began to work with a Pilates instructor which led to a huge improvement. Next I found a functional movement specialist that finally connected the dots and we learned the root cause of my issues. I am happy to report that I am exercising hard again and on track to being healthier and stronger than when I was a college athlete.
Everything builds on the simplest things. If we do not nourish our bodies with food, plenty of sleep, and water, there is no room errors and we are more likely to experience injuries and illness. Trying to add endurance racing on top of a demanding job with poor biomechanics and poor nutrition will eventually lead to something breaking down. Life should never have to be like that and Emilee teaches people to be proactive about their health rather than the more common reactive approach and this is the definition of wellness. I recommend Emilee for anyone at any stage of life wanting their body to feel wonderful. Emilee made this a joyful journey in pulling back the curtain on how easy it can be to truly be well.”
