Where Hormones and Healing Meet

Every year I leave retreat thinking, there is no way it can get any better than this.

And every year… it does.

I am so proud of the women who show up.

Women from all over the country. Ages 25 to 65. Different stories. Different seasons.

And yet, something ancient binds them.

Most of us are not raised alongside aunties and grandmothers anymore. We don’t grow up with built-in mentorship. We don’t have women modeling how to move through change, grief, sexuality, marriage, ambition, motherhood, menopause.

It has always been a dream of mine to recreate that.

To create rooms where younger women can sit beside women who have walked ahead of them. Where wisdom is passed down in real time. Where conversations are honest, embodied and safe.

Seeing the younger women choose to come — because they want to learn — moves me every time. I often think… what would my life have looked like if I had done this work at 25 instead of 35 or 45?

Thats the retreat I create.

This Year: The Year of the Feminine

The title alone kept some women away.

And when I mentioned we would be having conversations about sexuality — even more stepped back.

I understand. These topics are personal. Tender. Sometimes scary.

But let me gently debunk something:

Feminine energy is not about gender. It’s not about being “girlie.” It’s not about how you dress or who you love.

Every human holds both masculine and feminine energy.

Feminine energy is about:

  • Being instead of constant achieving

  • Receiving instead of only producing

  • Intuition

  • Emotional awareness

  • Regulation

And here is where it becomes deeply relevant to health:

Most women I work with are chronically in “doing” mode.

Producing. Striving. Optimizing. Tracking. Checking boxes.

Even in wellness.

Weighted vests. Red light masks. Cold plunges. Macros. Protein goals.

None of those are bad.

But when all of it becomes more doing… The nervous system never comes home.

And when the nervous system is not regulated, hormones cannot regulate.

Cortisol drives the bus. Progesterone drops. Sleep suffers. Digestion struggles. Libido fades. Mood destabilizes.

You cannot biohack your way out of nervous system imbalance.

The missing link to hormone regulation is safety. Embodiment. Connection. Balance between doing and being.

That is what we practiced for four full days.

What We Actually Did

No phones.

No distractions. No one half in the room.

We practiced how to truly listen. How to receive without fixing. How to be witnessed without performing.

We explored the pelvic floor, not just anatomically, but energetically. We rebounded for nervous system support. We rode horses for courage and soul. We line danced for laughter and joy.

We had hard conversations. Walls softened. Tears were shed. Truths were spoken.

Many women realized the very patterns they use to succeed are the same ones keeping them stuck.

And something shifted.

About half the women chose to continue in a small group container to integrate this work over the rest of the year.

Because this isn’t about a weekend high.

It’s about rewiring.

It’s about remembering who you are when you’re not performing.

It’s about hormones that regulate because the body finally feels safe enough to.

And Yes… There Will Be Another.

If this retreat stirred something in you…
If you felt curious but hesitant…
If the title scared you just a little…

That’s usually a sign.

We will be hosting another retreat later this year. Details are coming soon.

If you want to be the first to know, and receive early access before it opens publicly, simply reply to this email with the word RETREAT and I’ll add you to the priority list.

And if you’ve been waiting for the “right time”, I promise you, the women who come never regret saying yes.

With love,
Emilee
